Achieving LEED Credits with Roca Tile Group
At Roca, we understand the importance of green building rating systems created by U.S. Green Building Council, including Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), and the contribution they make towards sustainability in the built environment.
To make our own contribution toward sustainability, we are taking steps to decrease the environmental impact of all Roca Tile products. Everyday, we explore new avenues to increase the amount of pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled content in our products. This decreases the amount of raw materials used in manufacturing our products and therefore decreases the amount of resources taken from the earth.
In addition, we recently tested to meet the California (CA) 01350 regulations for indoor air quality, qualifying that all Roca Tiles products emit zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This certification ensures a healthier indoor environment for Roca tile consumers.
All of our Spanish manufacturing facilities are ISO 14001 certified, and we are working diligently to certify our remaining manufacturing facilities. According to the International Organization for Standards, ISO 14001 provides the requirements for environmental management systems and, confirms organizations wishing to operate in an environmentally sustainable manner. Furthermore, in 2002 Roca was the first tile manufacturer to receive EMAS (Eco Management Audit Scheme). EMAS is a voluntary environmental management program based in the European Union that helps organizations evaluate and improve their environmental performance.
When you specify Roca Tile, you specify a product that conserves natural resources and improves indoor air quality. Choose Roca Tile, improve your built - and your natural - environment.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED as it is commonly known, is the official green building rating system of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). A non-profit organization, the USGBC is to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life.
