LEED for Commercial Interiors: LEED - CI
LEED for Commercial Interiors is the green benchmark for the tenant improvement market. It is the recognized system for certifying high-performance green interiors that are healthy, productive places to work; are less costly to operate and maintain; and have a reduced environmental footprint. LEED for Commercial Interiors gives the power to make sustainable choices to tenants and designers, who do not always have control over whole building operations.
Materials and Recourses- MR Credit 4.1: Recycled Content: 10% (post–consumer + 1/2 pre-consumer) – 1 Point
- MR Credit 4.2: Recycled Content: 20% (post–consumer + 1/2 pre-consumer) – 1 Point
*Post-consumer recycled material is defined as waste material generated by households or by commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities in their role as end-users of the product, which can no longer be used for its intended purpose.
**Pre-consumer material is defined as materials diverted from the waste stream during the manufacturing process.
The intent of MR Credit 4.1 and 4.2 is to increase demand for building products that contain recycled content. This reduces environmental and social impacts resulting from extraction and processing of raw materials.
Roca Tile recycled content is defined in accordance with the International Organization of Standards document, ISO 14021 - Environmental Labels and Declarations - Self-declared environmental claims (Type II environmental labeling). Meeting this LEED CI recycled content reference standard ensures that Roca Tile will contribute to LEED credits on any LEED CI project. Proper documentation for LEED letter template submittals is available upon request.
All Roca Tile products also meet CA 01350 indoor air quality standards and are rated zero VOC. It is important to specify low and zero VOC products to improve indoor air quality and the health of building occupants.
